Giving birth the second time around made me feel like a first time mom again as the experience unfolded to be quite different from the first.
When I gave birth to Arvid Matthew, Dave and I were excited as ever. We didn’t think about anything else but to have him alive and in a normal condition. Thank God he arrived so well and quite handsome, too!
Two years later, a great news broke again when we found out I’m expecting another baby. Although at first, we hoped that we’d have a baby girl, the feeling as well as the process of waiting for Paul Benedict, a.k.a. Pee Bee, still became a welcome and tickling endeavor.
For one, my hubby and I kept on thinking about how Pee Bee’s going to look like. Would he take after his Dad? Would he look like me? Or would he get Mom’s facial features because she claimed to have received my “paglilihi” syndrome?
Our new boy’s name didn’t come up easily, too. We really wanted to name our second baby after our parents as a tribute to them. So we jumbled Apolinario, Benedicto, Sopilinda and Ofelia and broke into frustrated laughter with very unusual combinations like Benar Pofel, Lindof Rioben and Felinor Ben. And just when we’re about to call him Paulben, Dave’s elder brother said Paul Benedict, the name we thought of a few months ago seems much better. Without further ado, let me present our additional bundle of joy…PEE BEE!
