This is the second recipe that I learned in my culinary arts class. Try it.

Ingredients:
1 kg chicken breast fillet or 1 kg pork lomo
1 box cheese (cut into strips)
2 packs ham
3 eggs
1 pack bread crumb
500ml Canola oil
1/4 cup calamansi or lemon juice
salt
pepper
Dressing:
1 can all purpose cream
1 can evaporated milk
1/2 cup grated cheese
Procedure:
1. Slice chicken breast fillet or pork lomo thinly. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Add 1/4 cup calamansi juice and let it stand for 30 minutes.
2. Lay chicken breast or pork lomo in platter followed by ham and cheese, then roll. Wrap in foil.
3. Steam chicken for 15-20 minutes; steam pork for 30 minutes.
4. Dip in egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
5. Deep fry until golden brown.
6. Slice according to desired size when it is already cold.
7. Fold in the ingredients of the dressing one after the other, adding salt and pepper to taste.
You may also add bell pepper or carrot strips to this recipe to give it a twist. Happy eating!

As part of our Dengue prevention drive at home we dug up old files and boxes. We sorted them one by one, throwing those that are not needed and keeping those which are important.
While sorting things, I came across an envelope which tells “READ WHEN YOU GET REALLY, REALLY, REALLY BORED ON THE PLANE TO THE U.A.E.”. I read the letters and poems inside it and put them back in the drawer.

DENGUE HEMORRHAGIC FEVER or Dengue is in the news as it infects hundreds and kills dozens in different parts of the Philippine archipelago including Smokey Mountain in Manila, Davao City, Negros Occidental and others. According to the news, there is an alarming increase in the number of Dengue cases this year compared to last year, something that everyone should be scared of because the deadly disease is easily transferred from one person to another.
My youngest sister and I could attest to that as we are both Dengue survivors. In 1998 we were infected by the Aedes aegypti or the day-biting mosquitoes, as it is known. The mentioned type of insect bites early in the morning or in the afternoon. To lessen the possibility of infection, we have started to observe the following measures at home:
1. Remove cans, bottles or anything that can hold and store water. Dengue mosquitoes live and thrive in stagnant water.
2. Use light colored or transparent curtains; move beds and cabinets to well-lighted areas of a room. These will help in eliminating the adult Aedes aegypti which usually stays in the dark areas of a house.

3. Spray each room of the house with mosquito killer. You can use water-based insect killers like Baygon Multi-insect spray especially if there are children and babies in your house.
4. Inspect plant/flower pots and vases. There may be mosquitoes breeding in them.
5. Eat nutritious foods and drink Vitamin C. The disease easily infects individuals with weak immune system so it is a must that you stay healthy and strong.
If you experience extreme headache, high fever, colds and bleeding, consult your doctor immediately. For photos of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, search Yahoo or Google Images and Flickr.
